This is the one you may collectively all know about or may have read. It is now a classic, a fable about a shepherd who goes looking for his destiny in a resourceful and proactive way. Perhaps the most famous work of Paul Coelho, this book speaks to how we are so connected to the universe around us and how if we choose to accept life in certain way the universe will bend itself to fulfill our wishes and destiny.A must read by all accounts.

TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE by MITCH ALBOM

Since all of us don't share the same religion, this is the closest I can come to spirituality without crossing that line. As doctors we are privileged to see people at their most vulnerable. Hopefully, it gives us the perspective to live our own lives to the fullest. This book, that details the life of Morrie Schwartz, through the eyes of one of his students, is one of the life books I have read. If you haven't read this book, I strongly recommend it.
